Get Your Feet Ready for Some Footwear Cosmopolitan.com (Image source) My feet hate winter and Spring, but they're in love with summer! In the winter, my feet are wrapped in socks and thick, chunky boots. While I love my boots, they’re heavy and not great for running errands all day. The History of the Wedge Shoe

Image
It Has Returned as One of the It Shoes for Spring 2024 The history of the wedge shoe is a fascinating journey through fashion, innovation, and cultural evolution. From its humble beginnings to its status as a staple in modern footwear, the wedge shoe has undergone numerous transformations, reflecting changes in style, technology, and societal norms. The origins of the wedge shoe can be traced back to ancient civilizations such as Greece and Egypt, where platform shoes were worn for both practical and symbolic reasons. While pointed-toe shoes are cute and trendy, they’re not for every woman. I, for one, don’t like to mash my feet into shoes and limp around all day. That is not cool! I do own a few pairs of pointed-toe shoes. They’re flat shoes and a size 10. I do better with flatter shoes than heeled shoes. However, I have plantar fascitis, and my doctor told me to wear heels. Sure! I love a good chunky heel. I used to wear a lot of high heels during my clubbing days. I could wear those shoes for hours. Not anymore. I need chunky, thick heels. There was a post on Instagram about round-toed shoes being “dated.” I don't see it this way. Many trendy shoes are round-toed. For example, motorcycle boots, Doc Martens, and rain boots are generally round-toed. They even look better round-toed versus pointed-toed. So, the fact that some fashion influe...
