Crop tops aren’t very flattering on women with thick waists or pudgy bellies—I’m in both categories. I’ve seen my students wear crop tops during the warm days of September and early October and often wondered why they’d want their stomachs and belly buttons showing. It wasn’t very appealing or appropriate for school. However, retailers realized that older women also wanted to wear crop tops. Soon, retailers like Old Navy and Target began offering their version of crop tops for women — and I was all in. Older women don’t necessarily want their stomachs showing or exposing their belly buttons. We want a crop top that hits right at our waist. It must be attractive and trendy.
