Sleepwear Trends for 2024
When the weather is hot and sticky, the last thing you want to wear at night is some itchy and scratchy PJs. Summer nights can be either breezy and cool or clammy and uncomfortable, depending on where you live. You want sleepwear that can adjust to night temperatures and be fine for daytime lounging.
My go-to sleepwear is a tank top and shorts. Nothing fancy. I want to be comfortable in bed while I have the AC turned on high and my comforter wrapper around me like it’s winter. During the day, I can walk around my home without getting the eye roll from my family. I can even go out in the backyard without the neighbors thinking I’m a nudist. But I also know that I want sleepwear that fits the surroundings if I’m away on a trip. Not everyone is a tank top and shorts kind of girl at bedtime.

The 13 Very Best Pajamas for Women
Sleep like a “Portuguese aristocrat.”
Ambar Pardilla is a writer at the Strategist covering fashion and home organization.
You’re (hopefully) spending eight hours a night in bed, and the last thing you need is tossing and turning, thanks to a bad pair of PJs. There’s nothing wrong with a ratty T-shirt and too big sweatpants. (No judgment here!) But I know I sleep better in a pajama set — it’s the cherry on top of having the proper sheets, pillows, and a duvet cover — and I have a hunch you will, too.
To help you find the best pairs of pajamas for an optimal snooze, I’ve slept through many pairs — including an old-fashioned nightgown and the slinkiest silk slip. You’ll read about some of those below, plus those recommended by a panel of opinionated sleepers (including writers, photographers, models, and our Strategist staffers) who told me about their favorites. To round out this list, I looked to our archives for recommendations we’ve gathered over the years. Here, you’ll find pajamas of all kinds, from author Ottessa Moshfegh’s set to a pair with Oprah’s stamp of approval. And if you’re looking for more sleepwear, the Strategist has guides to the best silk pajamas and loungewear.
