The Katt Williams and Shannon Sharpe Interview — Fashion Review

Controversy aside, let’s examine the fashion

We’re seven days into 2024 and the year has its first big bang — the Katt Williams and Shannon Sharpe interview. The podcast and video dropped on January 3rd, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Katt Williams came on Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” (why is it named that?) and dropped some truth bombs during the conversation. Club Shay Shay was a nice set with brown leather sofas, a fireplace, and a brown dark oak table. Cognac was the drink on tap as the men shared stories. Williams spoke of gatekeepers, being blackballed by the industry, and his journey to the comedy stage when he left home at 13.

My focus is not on Williams’ lived experience. I can’t critique what he went through, saw or heard. The comedy world is not my world. I like to laugh and enjoy humor in all forms, but I can’t critique what Williams told Sharpe during their conversation. What I can say is that I laughed and my jaw dropped throughout the nearly three hours the men talked.

What I can critique is the fashion both men wore during the interview. Let’s begin with Sharpe’s outfit. First and foremost, the outfit was too tight for Sharpe’s muscular frame. I don’t understand why men with muscles wear formfitting clothes. It’s not a good look.

Sharpe’s sweat suit was tan in color without any discernable logos. The color wasn’t the issue. The issue was the fit. As Sharpe sat with Williams, there were several views of his ankles -which looked ashy. I didn’t see any socks on Sharpe’s feet. Sharpe’s sneakers were Nike. They were multicolored and very a nice compliment to the suit, but Sharpe needed some socks or at least some greased ankles.

Sharpe wore one ring on his left hand and a silver bracelet on his right wrist. He wore a gold watch on his left wrist. He had on a silver link chain and wore brown-rimmed eyeglasses. His overall appearance is casual. But like I said, the sweatsuit was just too tight.

Williams on the other hand was dressed in black and gray. He has on a black jacket with a Fendi collar. The Fendi collar looked like it was fur and tan in color. On his head, Williams wore a gray and black knit cap. I believe he had braids or locks as the cap was bulky in the back. Around his neck, Williams wore a silver chain. It was a thick chain and it had a round silver piece. The piece looked like the rudder of a ship in its shape. There were some words emblazoned on the piece which looked like “WOKE FROKE.”

Williams had rings on both his left and right hands. He wore a large watch on his left wrist. The watch was black. On his right wrist, there was a bracelet. Williams’ pants were black in color, leather in appearance, with ruchings on the left. He wore black sneakers with orange soles.

Williams has a sense of style. He gave the appearance of a man who likes to look good. His outfit was elevated casual. There was a coolness about it that I found appealing. I’ve seen Williams’ work for many years and I always thought he was sloppy-looking as a dresser. But now, Williams’ style has matured as he has matured.

I give Sharpe’s outfit five out of ten stars. He needs to wear fewer form-firing sweatsuits. I give Williams’ outfit nine out of ten stars. It would have been a perfect ten. but the orange soles through off the outfit for me and Williams needed to trim his mustache and goatee.
